Miraa produces draft content. A clinician must review and approve everything before it enters a patient record.
Daily workflowsBefore a consultation

Before a consultation

A minute of preparation makes the whole consultation smoother and the draft note more accurate.

Purpose

Walk into the consultation confident you have the right patient and the right context, with your capture setup working.

Before you start

Steps

Find and confirm the patient

Search for the patient and open their profile. Confirm identity — name, and a second identifier such as date of birth — before you rely on anything.

Review patient context

Skim the profile: key history, medications, allergies, and anything flagged. See Using patient context.

Review previous consults

Check recent consultations for continuity — outstanding actions, plans in progress, or results pending. See Previous consults.

Review imported context (if used)

If your clinic imports prior notes or external context, review it — and treat it as background to verify, not confirmed record content. See Clinical context.

Confirm capture readiness

Have the consultation ready to start, and be prepared to confirm consent before recording.

Safety notes

⚕️

Right patient, every time. Selecting the wrong patient is the highest-impact mistake you can make, because everything downstream attaches to that record. Confirm identity with a second identifier.

🔒

Only open records you have a legitimate reason to access. Access is logged. See Audit trail.

Common mistakes

  • Opening a patient with a similar name and not double-checking.
  • Trusting imported or older context without verifying it against the patient.
  • Starting to record before confirming consent.
