Miraa produces draft content. A clinician must review and approve everything before it enters a patient record.

During a consultation

While you’re with the patient, your focus stays on the patient. Miraa captures in the background so you can document afterwards.

Purpose

Capture an accurate record of the clinical encounter with minimal disruption to the consultation.

Before you start

  • The correct patient is open and confirmed.
  • You are ready to obtain or confirm consent.

Steps

Before recording, confirm the patient is comfortable with Miraa capturing the consultation, following your clinic’s policy. See Patient consent.

Start capture

Start the consultation recording. Speak and consult as you normally would — ambient capture is designed to work in the background.

Keep the recording relevant

Where practical, pause or avoid capturing clearly non-clinical or private discussion. See Ambient capture.

Speak clearly for key details

Names of medications, doses, and plans transcribe more reliably when spoken clearly. If the room is noisy, that’s worth knowing when you review the draft.

End capture

Stop the recording when the consultation ends.

Safety notes

⚕️

Capture is an aid to documentation, not a substitute for it. You remain responsible for the accuracy of the final note regardless of what was captured.

🔒

Be mindful of what is said while recording. If sensitive third-party or non-clinical information is discussed, consider pausing capture where the product allows.

Common mistakes

  • Forgetting to start capture, then having no transcript to draft from.
  • Recording in a noisy environment and getting a poor transcript.
  • Capturing long stretches of non-clinical conversation.
