Miraa produces draft content. A clinician must review and approve everything before it enters a patient record.

The core operating loop

This is the single most important page in the docs. Almost every consultation in Miraa follows the same six steps. Learn this flow and the rest of the product makes sense.

Prepare → Capture → Generate → Verify → Approve → Close the loop.

⚕️

Treat everything Miraa produces as a draft until you have reviewed and approved it. The Verify and Approve steps are not optional — they are what makes Miraa safe to use.

1. Prepare

Set yourself up so you walk into the consultation informed and confident you have the right patient.

  • Open the workspace.
  • Confirm the correct patient — check name and identifiers.
  • Review the patient’s context and previous consults.
  • Review any imported clinical context, if your clinic uses it, and remember it is background for you to verify — not confirmed record content. See Clinical context.

2. Capture

  • Confirm patient consent where your clinic policy or jurisdiction requires it. See Recording & consent.
  • Start the consultation and let Miraa capture the audio.
  • Use ambient capture naturally — speak as you normally would.
  • Where practical, avoid recording irrelevant or private discussion that isn’t part of the clinical encounter.

3. Generate

  • When capture ends, Miraa produces a draft note, and may suggest tasks, follow-ups, and communications.
  • Treat all AI-generated content as draft content. It is a starting point, not a finished record.

Miraa drafts from the transcript and the information in the patient record. It can still miss context, mishear a word, or phrase something imprecisely — which is exactly why the next two steps exist.

4. Verify

This is where your clinical review happens. Read the draft against what actually happened in the room.

  • Review the transcript if anything looks off.
  • Check the clinical facts.
  • Check medications, diagnoses, the plan, referrals, and follow-up details.
  • Edit the note to correct, complete, or remove anything before approval.

The detailed checklist is on the Clinician approval page.

5. Approve

  • You, the clinician, review and approve.
  • Nothing is treated as final until you approve it.
  • Approval is deliberate — it is your sign-off that the content is clinically correct and appropriate.

6. Close the loop

Finish the work the consultation created so nothing falls through the cracks.

  • Create or check referrals.
  • Confirm follow-up tasks.
  • Confirm recalls.
  • Confirm patient communication where relevant.
  • Make sure overdue actions are visible and dealt with. See Overdue items.
